Program Pop-In with Estelle Higgins

Estelle Higgins is a doctoral student in Psychology and is interested in the relationships between chronic stress, mental health and the immune system. At the Center for Healthy Minds, she primarily works on analyzing psychoneuroimmunology datasets, with a focus on brain-body connections in asthma. She ultimately hopes to integrate a scientific understanding of the neural mechanisms of psychological disorders, disease and well-being into clinical practice.

Estelle is a PhD Mentor for DSHB students interested in mental health, well-being, and analyzing app use data from the well-being app, Healthy Minds.

PhD Mentors for our capstone projects are invaluable as they provide expertise and consultations with our master’s students. They are responsive and support DSHB master’s as they tackle applied data science challenges, glean valuable insights from in-depth analyses, and get real-world statistical analysis and programming experience.
